The following are the objectives of RILIS.
The main objective of RILIS is to provide training of Library software (E-Granthalat, SOUL, KOHA, LIBSYS, Dspace etc).
Library Automation work in the library (Installation & Classification, Subject Headings, Database)
Digitization of the documents in the library.
To develop and enhance the capability of the library resources and services.
To establish a computer infrastructure of all libraries in India operations and services by acquiring library computer software and hardware to make computerization functional (Library Automation).
To establish a strong library linkage with other institutions and agencies in the country.
